Such occasions make all the natives gather and celebrate their culture. Most people celebrate special occasions by holding parties that are opposite to the Indian heritage. Powwows make the Native Americans remember that it is their job to keep their cultural heritage. I was surprised that during such occasions, various types of food are served. Such foods include succotash, fry bread, hamburgers and hotdogs and lima beans accompanied with corn. They include water and soda which are served on various food stands.The afternoon session is accompanied by different dances with their unique styles. The dancers gather and form a circle and while dancing various dancing styles. They share stories of how different regalia came into existence. Moreover, Native Americans have different dancing patterns that include traditional, jingle , hoop, and womenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s fancy and menà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s fancy. The traditional dances are slower compared to jingle and fancy dances.The hoop dance surprised me since it is done very fast while dancing with the hoops.
